Which photographer's work do you personally prefer? Helena Christensen or Mary Ellen Mark?
Mary Ellen Mark

Do you think Helena Christensen's experience as a model in front of the camera had something to do with her success behind the camera? Explain.
Yes because she was able to travel the world and see awesome moments.

What did Mary Ellen Mark mean when she said, "camera companies don't want to know you anymore."
Back then people were interested in taking pictures of you and knowing you but now people care about how the photo looks.

Describe a photo you saw in the episode that you felt was an exceptional photo.

The Elephants trunk around the guys neck. That picture caught my eye.

Do you agree with Kevin Bacon’s statement about how musicians are better photography subjects than actors?  Why?
-I think actors make a better photography than musicians because actors are always in front of a camera and most of them stay posing.

Which photographer’s work did you enjoy more?  Bob Gruen or Kevin Bacon?  Why?  What stands out to you?
-i enjoyed Bob Gruen's work more because he had pictures from the 60 and up. And it showed how photos were back then compared to now.
Describe a photo you saw in the episode that you felt was an exceptional photo.
-i like the Clash photo beacuse you can see the twin tower in the background and the empire state building
Why do you think Bob Gruen photographed the Clash and Green Day in the same location?
He wanted to get the same vibe he got when he took a famous picture back when he took the clash picture.

Did you enjoy the episode?  Would you be interested in watching another episode in class?
i really enjoyed the episode and i would be interested in watching more videos in class.

1.)  What are the 3 types of texture photography? Detail, drama, information 2.) What two forms of contrast does texture take?tonal and color contrast3.)  What two categories do texture curves fall into?leading and non-leading curves 4.)  How can texture create mood?  What emotions do certain lines convey?curves add emotional content to an image by affecting the mood of the image. Vertical lines can communicate moods of: stability, peace, or power. Horizontal lines tend to communicate a feeling of permanence or lack of change. Diagonal lines are best at making an image more dynamic or communicating a sense of action.5.)  How can you break a pattern in your photographs? This is usually done by inserting an object into the pattern.

1.)  Are  you for or against adding watermarks to your images?
I am for watermarking. sometimes watermarking look pretty cool too.
2.)  If someone took your photos & wouldn’t give you credit what would you do?

i would get really mad and i would complain to the person and tell them to take it down.

This picture is crooked like Enrico's picture. You kinda look chubby when you are working on your laptop. Your editing could've been better. You look really bright on the couch. You could've dimmed the light to make it fit the picture. I like that game killzone 3 even though i never played it.
I really like this picture you took. I like the abandon house that you are in. This is a nice place to take pictures. I would like to take pictures here. I like how you are looking out the window in both windows but the other one is closed. You did good on your editing, It was done well.
The editing can have some work. Part of the bathroom stall is fading away. You are not even using the bathroom. The picture is crooked. This could've been better. I like your outfit though. The khaki joggers go well with your smooth skin. Work on your editing skills more and you will get really good.

This wouldve been a better pictures if the people were not in it...
Social issue: Smoking tobacco.
I picked this topic because tobacco use is terrible for the human body and for Earth. Smoking tobacco can cause many problems to the body and can be very addictive. Smoking can cause lung cancer from just being around smoke. Smoking also pollutes the air which can cause second hand smoking to young children's and to animals. Also the cigarette  bud are always thrown on the floor which is polluting the earth. Many toddlers don't know what the cigarette bud is and they would pick it up and can eat it. Animals also think its a source of food and will eat it and can cause them to die. Smoking tobacco shouldn't be allowed because they cause damage to many people and pollutes the air and ground. If you want to stop you should seek help from others that can help you. You can also see a doctor to help stop the addiction from tobacco. You can help the world if you stop people from smoking.

pixels: a minute area of illumination on a display screen, one of many from which an image is composed.
image resolution is the detail an image holds. The term applies to raster digital images, film images, and other types of images. Higher resolution means more image detail. Image resolution can be measured in various ways.
Megabyte  :a unit of information equal to 220 bytes or, loosely, one million bytes
megapixel a unit of graphic resolution equivalent to one million or (strictly) 1,048,576 (220) pixels.
gigabyte a unit of information equal to one billion (109) or, strictly, 230 bytes.
Jpeg a format for compressing image files.
psd PSD, which stands for Photoshop Document, is the default format that Photoshop uses for saving data. PSD is a proprietary file that allows the user to work with the images' individual layers even after the file has been saved.
white balance : the color balance on a digital camera.
histogram a diagram consisting of rectangles whose area is proportional to the frequency of a variable and whose width is equal to the class interval.
aperture an opening, hole, or gap.
shutter speedthe time for which a shutter is open at a given setting.
depth of fieldthe distance between the nearest and the furthest objects that give an image judged to be in focus in a camera.
bitmap a representation in which each item corresponds to one or more bits of information, especially the information used to control the display of a computer screen.
exposure is the unit of measurement for the total amount of light permitted to reach the electronic sensor during the process of taking a photograph. The two main controls your digital camera uses to control exposure are the shutter speed and aperture.
watermarking mark with a watermark.
optical zoomOn a digital camera, optical zoom is a true zoom feature. It allows you to zoom in (or out) on the subject in the LCD or viewfinder.
digital zoom Digital zoom is a function of a digital camera used to make the image seem more close-up. Digital zoom on a digital camera works the same as cropping and enlarging a photo in a graphics program.
light meterTypically a light meter will include a computer, either digital or analog, which allows the photographer to determine which shutter speed and f-number should be selected for an optimum exposure, given a certain lighting situation and film speed.
image stabilizationImage stabilization (IS) is a family of techniques used to reduce blurring associated with the motion of a camera or other imaging device during exposure.
noise Image noise is random (not present in the object imaged) variation of brightness or color information in images, and is usually an aspect of electronic noise. It can be produced by the sensor and circuitry of a scanner or digital camera.
Time lag the time it takes from when you press the shutter button to when the camera actually records the picture.
Hot shoehot shoe is a mounting point on the top of a camera to attach a flash unit and other compatible accessories.
fisheye a wide-angle lens with a field of vision covering up to 180°, the scale being reduced toward the edges.
marco  is extreme close-up photography, usually of very small subjects, in which the size of the subject in the photograph is greater than life size (though macrophotography technically refers to the art of making very large photographs)
telephoto a lens with a longer focal length than standard, giving a narrow field of view and a magnified image.
wide angle(of a lens) having a short focal length and hence a field covering a wide angle.
DSLR A digital single-lens reflex camera (also called a digital SLR or DSLR) is a digital camera combining the optics and the mechanisms of a single-lens reflex camera with a digital imaging sensor, as opposed to photographic film.

This picture is about an African girl that attended high school. She was the first one to attend High School with all with people in it, Her name is elizabeth  Eckford and this was taken in Little Rock, Arkansas. At that time there was a big riot of white people arguing about her going to school. People threw items at her and said foul names to her. Everyone in school bullied Elizabeth because she was African American. This shows how ignorant people where towards African Amarican.
